"I had never seen it before, this tiny O'Keeffe, some flower, hanging by the stairs in a room I'd been in many times, all of a sudden just there as if it had blossomed overnight. I kept my eye on it, but I knew it would wait for me from now on, dawn to dusk, twenty-four-seven, nights too."
