In the future, when this painting in unearthed from some cave or is discovered at the back of some vault, it will present itself just as it is now (?), without any change. But I will not be able to speak to you, nor will the times that allow you to interpret it have remained unchanged. Rather, a gulf will exist and it will be up to you and your time to make it speak.
